Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Sugianto Soenario , President Director of PT Wahana Interfood Nusantara Tbk (COCO), said that finding sources of raw material supplies is a challenge for chocolate processing companies amid disruptions to global cocoa production .
Currently, major cocoa producers, such as those in Africa, are experiencing declining production due to pest infestations and changing weather. COCO, in order to meet raw material needs amidst global cocoa supply disruptions, continues to expand its domestic sources.
On the other hand, COCO must also address the limited raw materials that have resulted in the surge in cocoa prices so that they do not affect the selling price of the final product and disrupt sales, which are largely absorbed by small industries and MSMEs.
What is COCO’s business strategy amid rising cocoa prices and raw material disruptions? For more information, watch Dina Gurning’s dialogue with PT Wahana Interfood Nusantara Tbk (COCO) President Director Sugianto Soenario on Squawk Box, CNBC Indonesia (Tuesday, September 2, 2025).
